Review of Namaste Asia: Asian Food Home Delivery in Delhi

As Delhiites join the ranks of the perceptive global food community, world cuisine is taking over the market. “Namaste Asia” in MG Road is a brand new food delivery service that promises authentic Asian cuisine at your doorstep. A day before their official launch, they sent over some of their signature dishes for me to try. I thoroughly enjoyed everything.

Though the food was sent to me, I’m not being paid to write this review. As always, my opinion is absolutely honest. However, do keep in mind that I received the best possible version of their food, which is standard practice when food is sent to be reviewed.

The food came well packaged

THE CONCEPT:

Asian cuisine is vast and varied in flavor, texture and presentation. Namaste Asia’s menu isn’t a complete representation of Asian food, but the curated selection is quite satisfying.

The main focus is on dishes from Chinese, Japanese, Hawaiian (technically not Asian ;P), Thai, and Indonesian cuisines. Along with a range of appetizers and main courses, the menu also offers unique desserts and non-alcoholic beverages.

THE DELIVERY:

As a food delivery service, the products have been packaged to withstand the journey. Innovative bags kept the food warm and in pristine condition. Food was packaged in microwavable containers and condiments were stored in tiny glass jars that can be reused at home. Special care was taken with certain dishes. The sweet Teriyaki sauce was packaged separately so the Char Grilled Teriyaki Chicken with Sticky Rice wouldn’t lose its crisp-soft balance beforehand.

At first, the team was reluctant to send the food to my location as they have a 12 km delivery radius, but once they realized my home was within the range, there was no issue. The food arrived on time, and this is where directly ordering has an advantage over ordering online on different platforms.

The food remained hot despite the long journey

THE FOOD:

I tried the Lat Ma Gai Chicken as a starter which was spicy but flavorful. The Coast of Cali Roll (California Roll with fresh crab topped with house guacamole) was delightful with its soft rice and subtle flavors. The Char Grilled Teriyaki Chicken with Sticky Rice was fantastic, a perfect blend of textures and tastes. My absolute favorite dish was the Yellow Curry Prawn Dumplings, with their delicately spiced softness.

The yellow curry dumplings and the lat ma gai chicken are very highly spiced, so keep that in mind if you’re not one for hot food!

I also tried a delicious Thai Lemonade, which was neither too sweet, nor too sour.

I highly recommend this place to people who love Asian food or anyone looking for a good meal delivered to the comfort of their home at a reasonable price.

Food Rating: 5/5
