I’m Participating in the 2026 Nonfiction Reader Challenge!

Hi everyone! Books have been my friends and happy place ever since I can remember. But now with the demands of work, home and motherhood calling on my time, I try to read strategically. 30 books is a fixed target every year, of which some are new works of fiction for my monthly book club, non-fiction books to hone my craft as a lifestyle journalist, and my favourites- Agatha Christie’s! I’m currently undertaking a years-long project called Project Poirot where I re-read all of Hercule Poirot’s mysteries in the order they were published. After about 3 years, I’m a little over the halfway mark – loving and savouring them.

2026 Nonfiction Reader Challenge

Since I read plenty of non-fiction every year, I thought it would be nice to sign up and read along with a community this year!

According to the rules of this challenge , I will aim to read 6 non-fiction books across the different categories, which would make me a Nonfiction Nibbler. Here’s hoping I can stick to that goal!

Here are the categories:

I may not write individual reviews for each of the books I read on my blog, but I will certainly share my reviews on Goodreads and Instagram, so come follow me there if you would like to keep up.

Since I’ve hopped on here anyway, here’s a quick update on my current read, which also works for the History Category of the 2026 nonfiction reading challenge. I’m currently reading Ghosted: Delhi’s Haunted Monuments by Eric Chopra, and I will report back with my thoughts once I finish it.

Here’s to a good reading year!
