Style Picks for This Season

Hi folks! Every so often, an article I’ve been commissioned to write in my job as a freelance journalist falls through or gets killed for one reason or another. But since there is no point wasting my energy and time, I usually share those pieces here on my blog. So, here’s a style round-up written for an inflight magazine. This one was more about the images than the text. Hope you enjoy reading it!

Whether seated in boardrooms across the world or lounging in the carpeted lobbies of international hotels, traversing well-trod shopping streets or sipping classy drinks at street-sides cafes, we are the ambassadors of our home country. Thankfully India has much to offer in the sartorial department, ensuring we stand apart from our fellow global citizens. Here’s our curated pick of handcrafted dresses, statement bags and one-of-a-kind watches which combine ancient craft techniques with the best of contemporary design.

  1. Look uber stylish while staying comfortable in Cord’s village print Ravine Dress. This sleeveless, A-line silhouette with V-neck and side pockets in cotton satin, is the ultimate vacation outfit. A muted colour palette of easy-on-the-eye beiges and browns, offset by deep blue and green, along with a fun print, set this artisan-crafted dress apart.
  2. If the bag maketh the outfit, the NEO shoulder bag from Fizzy Goblet’s Boo’Tah collection should be your first choice. Pick the black leather variant embellished intricately with colourful beads. Its unique shape inspired by the Indian buta motif, makes a statement while being roomy enough to hold everything you need. Indeed, couture at its best.
  3. It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re having fun, but the chic limited edition automatic Stamp Watch by Jaipur Watch Company, will keep you updated. Our pick?  The green leather strap version which bears an authentic paper postal stamp dating from 1937–1947, bearing the stately visage of King George VI as its dial.
